TFFC Champs 2019 Results
The Champs, now in its third year proved to be great fun once again. The top four teams selected over three qualifying weekends fought it out for the finals held on the 3rd of August. The quality of fishing caught on a catch and release basis during the Champs was testament to just how good the angling at Middelpunt is. 142 fish were taken and released in total over the three qualifying weekends and the final.
The Champs is not only an opportunity to bring a bit of fun competition to the club, but socially to spend time at the farm with other members. New friendships are made every year.
The final produced 59 fish with Hugh and Francis finding their luck on the day to claim the Champs for 2019 with 19 fish.
The four teams that competed at this year’s finals were:
1st Place: Hugh Dean & Francis Sherwell
2nd Place: Luke van der Merwe & Gary Viljoen
3rd Place: Bryn Labuschagne & Seth Blakeney
4th Place: Waldt & Hugo Human
And more winners:
Longest Day: Gary Viljoen
Most fish lost: Seth Blakeney
Biggest Fish: Waldt Human (55cm) and Luke van der Merwe (56cm)
Best Fisherman: Luke van der Merwe
Hope to see some new faces for next year’s event.

TFFC Fly Fishing Champs 2019
Hi all,
It's that time of year again ... the TFFC Champs!!
Last year and the year before were great successes with incredible interactions and camaraderie.
The format will remain the same as before with three qualifying Saturdays that will determine who goes through to the final. The weekends have been identified as follows:
29th June (Qualifying Round 1)
6th July (Qualifying Round 2)
13th July (Qualifying Round 3)
3rd August (the Final)
The format will be: 4 teams of 2 per team (members only). The teams will compete against each other based on a draw and then fishing all the dams in predetermined time slots. The number of fish caught and released (as confirmed by the competing team) and size will determine the points allocated to the team. The top team from each qualifying weekend plus a 4th team with the most points from the 3 qualifying weekends will go through to the final.
Entry into the competition will be on a first come first served basis. Entrants can choose which weekend they want to go depending on availability. There will be a R300 entry fee per team. Payment will confirm your place for the competition. Please note that the accommodation has been block booked for those weekends. Once accommodation has been allocated for the teams, any remaining accommodation will be opened up for normal use.
As per last year, we’d like to have a few prizes for the winners, so any contributions towards these would be much appreciated.
